Capabilities & Services
- LIQUID CARBURIZING
- Process Adds carbon and nitrogen to the surface of low carbon steel.
- Benefit Low carbon steel can be heat treated with less distortion than conventional carburizing methods.
- LIQUID NITRIDING
- Process Adds various case depths of nitride, depending on the time spent in the nitride furnace.
- Benefit Increases the wear life of high speed steel (HSS) parts without changing the core hardness.
- STEAM TEMPER
- Process Performed at different temperatures for various types of materials, it tempers the part after
heat treating.
- Benefit Reduces oxidation on the surface of a part and adds lubricity to cutting tools.
- BLACK OXIDE
- Process Performed in a series of tanks, it is a form of controlled rust that acts as a long-lasting preventive.
- Benefit Protects from rusting and adds an aesthetic blackened finish to the part, which enhances the look of the finished product.
- SAND BLASTING
- Process Removes discoloration left on parts after heat treating.
- Benefit Gives parts a clean look and prepares them for the machining process.
- AUSTEMPER / MARTEMPER
- Process Heat treating performed at different temperatures, depending on the material, to change the metallurgical properties of the part.
- Benefit Increases the strength of the part by changing the metallurgical makeup at the
microscopic level. Also reduces cracks, increases toughness, minimizes distortion and yields uniformly hardened parts.
- DIAMOND BLUE
- Process A proprietary treatment developed over 50 years ago, and used exclusively
on HSS tools.
- Benefit The surface hardness of the tool is three to five points higher on the Rockwell
scale and its surface is infused with tiny microscopic pockets of oil to enhance lubricity.
